Kim Shin-young will promote AIA Korea’s products
AIA Korea announced on May 25 that it had tapped female comedian Kim Shin-young as a new ads model to promote the Seoul-based insurer’s products.
The company said that the decision had been geared toward becoming more friendly to its customers based on Kim’s positive images.
After debuting in 2004, the 39-year-old has become one of the most famous woman comedians. The award-winning performer also works as an MC and DJ.
Kim will first promote AIA Korea’s cancer insurance policies along with former KBS announcer Jo Woo-jong, who is now a broadcaster under FNC Entertainment.
As an affiliate of AIA Group here, AIA Korea made inroads into the country in 1987 to contribute to the development of the insurance sector by coming up with advanced insurance techniques.
For example, AIA was the first to provide foreign currency fixed annuity products through the bancassurance channel in the domestic market.
Since 2000, the company depended on direct telemarketing channels to sell a variety of policies. Currently, the number of its products amount to 11.
The client base of the insurer, which is headed by CEO Nathan Chuang, is around 2.3 million. As of the end of last year, its assets stood at 17.5 trillion won ($13 billion).
