K-pop megastar attracts fans

K-pop superstar BTS dropped an anthology album, dubbed “Proof,” on June 10 to win the hearts and minds of the seven-piece boy band’s global fans.

Its title track was “Yet To Come.” Members of the music act, including RM, Suga, and J-Hope, took part in writing the song, according to BTS label Big Hit Music.

The company noted that the Korean-language track’s message is that “the best moment is yet to come.”

“Yet To Come” has already shown its prowess _ it took just an hour for the comeback title track to hit No. 1 on Melon’s top 100 charts in South Korea.

This marks the first time for any artist or song to top the Melon chart in less than a day after release since August 2021 when Korea’s representative chart was rebranded.

The Grammy-nominated band also teamed up with the streaming platform Spotify to promote the album. And it is available on all major audio streaming platforms like Apple Music and Amazon Play.

The accompanying music video is also gathering views on YouTube.

All the members sit on chairs in the desert in all-white costumes. Then, Jungkook launches into the song, which starts with a lyric, “Was it honestly the best?”

The video clip amassed 8 million views in an hour after its debut on the video-sharing platform. The view count approaches 50 million some 16 hours after its release.

“To be completely honest, while each of the releases in the English trilogy has its own charm, it was really refreshing to have a music video packed with so many references to help me remember the roots of why I love BTS,” a fan said.
