Saudi’s diplomat holds reception in South Korea

With the slogan “We dream, and we achieve,” Saudi Amb. Sami Alsadhan in South Korea hosted a diplomatic reception to mark the country’s 93rd National Day late last week in Seoul.

A host of envoys from the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. were on hand on top of members from various Saudi communities residing here in Korea.

In front of more than 400 guests, the Saudi diplomat noted that the Saudi-Korea relationship was witnessing remarkable developments in various fields.

“At a time when we recall with pride the course of these relations since their establishment in 1962, we look forward with determination to the bright prospects for the future of these relations in order to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly Saudi and Korean leaderships and peoples,” he said.

Before Amb. Alsadhan concluded his speech, he presented a symbolic gift representing a model of “The Line” project in NEOM city to Korea’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong.

He said that the present was aimed at expressing gratitude and recognition for Minister Won’s relentless efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations.

In answer, Minister Won commented that by visiting Saudi in January and June this year, he has been at the forefront of expanding bilateral partnerships in such fields as the NEOM city project, electricity car, and mobility.

Regarding Saudi’s Vision 2030, a great leap program to transform its nation into one with cutting-edge technology and environmentally friendly features, Minister Won said he hoped for Korea to be able to cooperate as a strategic partner.

In particular, he expected that Korean companies with excellent technology and capabilities would be able to serve as the best partners to lead the success of Saudi’s NEOM projects.
